Junior/Intermediate Technologist

Locations: Saskatoon

Rempel Engineering & Management Ltd. (REM) is currently seeking a permanent full time, 40 hours per week, Junior/Intermediate Design Technologist in our Saskatoon office. The successful candidate will assist both the structural engineering & building design departments with the design and drafting in commercial, and industrial sectors. The candidate will be required to work with the structural engineers & building design team in producing of designs/drawings for permit and construction. The candidate will be expected to work both independently and within the project group to facilitate the design requirements to reach project completion. The candidate will also be encouraged to take on special project tasks to help promote efficiencies of current design procedures and will have the opportunity to attend occasional site visits.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with design guidelines, standards, and regulations associated with building design and structural engineering,
  • Accept technical guidance from designers, technologists, and senior staff,
  • Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion,
  • Use CAD and or REVIT software and drafting tools to generate detailed layouts and blueprints for structural components
  • Coordinate building design & structural aspects of projects with other discipline designs and drawings,
  • Revise designs based on feedback from engineers or clients while maintaining project timeline,
  • Complete drawings and documents in conformance with building code and office standards,
  • Other tasks as assigned by Structural/ Building Design Lead
  • Occasional site visits as required,
  • Comply with all company standards, policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Diploma in Architectural Technologies
  • 0- 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills,
  • Effective team member,
  • Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn,
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities, and,
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization,
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision and in a team environment

Intermediate Structural Engineer

Location: Prince Albert

Rempel Engineering & Management is currently seeking a INTERMEDIATE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.

REM is a mid-sized structural engineering firm that provides structural consulting services on a wide variety of building construction projects across Western Canada, mainly in Saskatchewan.  REM has established itself as a major player in the market specializing in the small to medium size projects and is well known throughout the industry.   REM has been involved in over 13,500 small to medium sized projects since 2005 averaging roughly 1000 projects per year.  REM prides itself on its superior customer service and a continually expanding customer base.

Collaborating with our clients, engineers and technologists, the successful candidate would work on different scales of projects, from residential to commercial and light industrial with a focus on the residential sector. We are seeking an individual with an interest and/or experience in residential structural design and field reviews. Our candidate of choice must be a highly organized self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering
